Do you offer in-person or virtual appointments?
Answer:
We offer both! Ascentia Mind and Body Wellness Cenrer is a hybrid practice. Clients can choose in-person visits at our Charlotte office or secure telehealth sessions based on their preference and clinical need.
Do you accept insurance?
Answer:
Yes, we are in-network with several major insurance plans. Please visit our Insurance & Payments page or call us to confirm coverage. We also offer private pay options and can provide superbills for out-of-network reimbursement.
How do I schedule my first appointment?
Answer:
Click the “Request an Appointment” button on our website or call our office directly. You’ll receive a secure link to complete new client forms and schedule your intake session.
What should I expect at my first appointment?
Answer:
Your first visit is a comprehensive psychiatric evaluation. We’ll talk about your symptoms, medical and mental health history, goals, and any concerns you have. This helps us create a treatment plan tailored to your needs.
How do medication refills work?
Answer:
Medication refills must be requested through the patient portal or your pharmacy. Refills are processed within 48 business hours. We recommend requesting refills at least 5 days before running out.
What’s your cancellation policy?
Answer:
We ask for at least 24 hours’ notice if you need to cancel or reschedule an appointment. Missed appointments or late cancellations may result in a fee, as noted in your intake paperwork.
Do you provide therapy or just medication management?
Answer:
We provide psychiatric evaluation, diagnosis, medication management, and supportive therapy sessions.
What should I do if I’m in crisis and your office is closed?
Answer:
If you’re in crisis, do not wait. Call 911, visit the nearest emergency room, or call/text 988 to reach the Suicide & Crisis Lifeline. Our practice is not equipped to manage urgent emergencies outside of regular office hours.

Can I contact my provider after hours for an emergency?
Answer:
While we care about your well-being, we do not offer direct after-hours crisis response. For immediate safety concerns, please call 911 or 988. You may leave a secure message in the client portal for non-urgent issues, and we’ll respond during regular business hours.
What resources are available if I’m feeling overwhelmed or unsafe?
Answer:
There are several resources available 24/7:

I’m not sure if I’m in crisis. What counts as a mental health emergency?
Answer:
A mental health emergency includes thoughts of harming yourself or others, inability to care for yourself safely, extreme emotional distress, or hallucinations. When in doubt, call 988 or go to the nearest emergency room for evaluation.
Can I request a medication refill after hours?
Answer:
Medication refills are only processed during business hours (Monday–Friday, 9 AM–5 PM). Please submit your refill request through the patient portal or contact your pharmacy directly.
Do you offer weekend or evening appointments?
Answer:
We currently offer limited evening availability. Weekend slots may be added based on need. Check the online scheduler or message us via the client portal or call the office to request specific times.
